When Lee married jazz guitarist David Barbour in 1943, she began writing songs with her first husband, including one of her first songs \u201cWhat More Can a Woman Do?\u201d in 1945, which was recorded by singer Sarah Vaughan. Lee went on to write songs \u201cThe Heart Is a Lonely Hunter,\u201d with Dave Grusin, \u201cAll for You\u201d with Steve Allen, \u201cThen Was Then (And Now Is Now)\u201d with Cy Coleman, and \u201cI\u2019m Gonna Go Fishin\u2019\u201d with Duke Ellington.
