This week, I\u2019m going to explore one the most successful songwriters in jazz, who also happened to be one of the biggest pop stars of the 20th century: Miss Peggy Lee. Peggy Lee got her start as the singer in Benny Goodman\u2019s Orchestra, and went on to record dozens of hits in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Many of these hits she had a hand in writing, including songs like \u201cIt\u2019s A Good Day,\u201d \u201cI Love Being Here With You,\u201d and \u201cFever.\u201d I\u2019ll explore Lee performing her own tunes on this program.<\/p>\n
